This section contains tips and pointers for your Mazda MX-5 Miata. These tips and pointers have been prepared by SDMC members to assist others with maintaining and customizing their Miatas.

Select a category

General
For all years of Miatas and applicable to most vehicles. This category includes bleeding brake lines, car covers, paint care, and paint repair.


First Generation (NA)
For 1990-1997 Miatas (with pop-up headlights). This category includes altering the seats for taller people, engine diagnostic codes, replacing the steering wheel, ignition timing, torque specifications, and modifying the headlights for the flass-to-pass feature.


First and Second Generations (NA/NB)
For 1990-2005 Miatas. The first and second generations are very similar under the exterior sheet metal. This category includes batteries, changing brake pads, changing shock absorbers, and installing an Autopower roll bar.


Second Generation (NB)
For 1999-2005 Miatas. There are no tips or pointers for this category. Please submit some!


Third Generation (NC)
For 2006-2015 Miatas. This categoy includes removing the front bumper cover.


Fourth Generation (ND)
For 2016+ Miatas. This categoy There are no tips or pointers for this category yet.
