Friday, October 15

8:30 a.m. to noon

Starting from Stage A on Tecolote Road.

Please arrive 15 minutes before the start time.

Surf 'N' Safari 2010 will now be offering a unique competition to Miata drivers. We will be able to race SEC with SET. That translates to “someone else’s car” with “someone else’s tires.” Play the video below for some exciting footage from a K1 Speed location!

In a safe and fun indoor environment, we will be racing high torque electric Karts in a similar format to Formula 1. In groups of 8 to 12, competitors will drive in a 14 lap qualifying heat to establish the fastest times by driver. Then the fastest drivers will be put into grid with the fastest time in the pole position and so on. Then the actual 16 lap race begins. The first driver to finish 16 laps wins. We will run as many groups as we have drivers to fill with 1st through 3rd medals being awarded. The plan is to run a separate women’s groups as numbers allow.

Friday morning we will leave the resort and caravan to the Carlsbad K1 Speed Circuit. They will be opening early for us. Discounted pricing will be $40 per driver.

The K1 Speed web site gives you a taste of what is to come: www.k1speed.com. Look for the K1 Speed display in the vendor mall! Here are a few more videos for your viewing enjoyment.
